1. Introduction
Checkride LLC ("Checkride LLC," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Checkride digital flight training platform ("Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how Checkride LLC collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the Service. Checkride LLC is generally the business responsible for decisions about how personal information is processed for consumer accounts. If you access the Service through an employer or flight school, your organization may control certain account details — please review their policies and contact them for enterprise-specific questions.
Checkride LLC operates the Service from the United States and designs it for U.S.-based aviation training. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in the United States and, where applicable, in other countries where our service providers operate, as described in Section 4.4.
Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Checkride LLC Terms of Service. Please read this Privacy Policy together with those Terms.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on the legal bases described in Section 7.2 (including consent where we request it). If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Service.
2. Information We May Collect
2.1 Personal Information
- Name, email address, phone number, and contact information
- Flight training records, certifications, and license information (where provided)
- Digital logbook entries including flight hours, aircraft details, and routes (where entered)
- Relationships with other users and organizations you connect with for training, and related progress information (where applicable)
- Billing identifiers and subscription metadata (where you pay for the Service). Payment cards are handled by a third-party payment processor; Checkride LLC does not intend to store complete payment card numbers on its own systems.
- Account credentials and security information
- Email verification / confirmation status (where email confirmation is required)
- Profile information and preferences
2.2 AI, Recommendations, and Analytics
- Conversations with our AI assistant "Sky" (where available and used)
- Training insights derived from your account information (for example progress, hours, and related summaries)
- When personalization features are enabled, portions of your training-related information may be processed by outside AI vendors that Checkride LLC engages. Do not enter information into AI features that you are not comfortable having processed by a vendor under contract with Checkride LLC.
- Product usage and performance analytics (through analytics partners)
- Training progress and performance metrics (where tracking features are enabled)
- Server logs and error reports needed to operate and secure the Service
2.3 Technical Information
- IP address, browser type, and device information
- Operating system and hardware specifications
- Usage patterns, page views, and navigation data (where analytics are configured)
- Cookies and similar technologies used for login, preferences, and security (see our Cookie Policy)
- Technical data associated with delivering real-time or in-app notifications
- If we add features that use device location in the future, we will request your permission before accessing it. We do not currently collect device location data through the Service.
2.4 Notifications, Devices, and Mobile Apps
- Push notification preferences and identifiers used by your device's mobile platform to deliver alerts (processed according to that platform's rules)
- In-app notification content and status while you use the Service
- Device unlock features you enable (for example biometrics): handled by your device; Checkride LLC does not receive usable biometric templates from those features
2.5 Document and Verification Data
- Electronic signatures and approvals tied to training records (where those features are available)
- Certificate and license verification documents (where verification features are implemented)
- Training completion records and endorsements (where applicable)
- Regulatory compliance documentation (where compliance features are enabled)
- Files you upload (documents, images) stored securely as part of the Service
- Records Checkride LLC maintains where appropriate to support integrity of training records (for example certain actions and timestamps), where those features are enabled
3. How We May Use Your Information
3.1 Service Operations
- Providing and maintaining our digital flight training platform
- Processing your flight training records and progress tracking (where features are available)
- Facilitating communications and approvals between you and others you choose to connect with through the Service (where applicable)
- Generating training analytics and progress reports (where analytics features are implemented)
- Processing payments and managing subscriptions (where payment features are integrated)
- Delivering in-app and push notifications about your training, account, appointments, and related activity (as configured)
3.2 AI and Enhancement Features
- Powering our AI assistant "Sky" to provide personalized training guidance (where available)
- Analyzing training patterns to suggest improvements (where analytics are implemented)
- Personalizing content and feature recommendations (where personalization is enabled)
- Automated progress tracking and requirement completion detection (where configured)
- Managing product configuration so features appear consistently for your account
3.3 Communication and Support
- Communicating with you about your account and training progress
- Providing customer support and technical assistance
- Sending important updates about regulatory changes (where applicable)
- Notifying you of new features and improvements
3.4 Legal and Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and requirements (where applicable)
- Maintaining records as required by law
- Protecting against fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Responding to legal requests and law enforcement
3.5 Automated Processing and AI Outputs
Automated calculations and AI-generated suggestions are aids only and are not a substitute for qualified instructors or official regulatory guidance. If applicable privacy law gives you rights related to automated processing, contact privacy@trycheckride.com.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Checkride LLC does not sell your personal information for money. We also do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms may be defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. We disclose personal information only as described in this Privacy Policy.

4.4 International Processing and Transfers
We may host data and operate services in the United States and other regions. Third-party service providers involved in hosting, payments, communications, analytics, AI personalization (when used), and similar functions may process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
5. Data Security and Protection
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit for connections as configured, monitoring, and incident response practices appropriate to the nature of the Service.

- Secure hosting environments with vendor-supplied physical and network controls
- Logging and alerting suitable for detecting abuse and operational failures

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is perfectly secure. If Checkride LLC becomes aware of a breach affecting your personal information that requires notification under applicable law, Checkride LLC will provide notices consistent with those legal requirements.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- Account and profile information: Retained while your account is active
- Flight training records: Retained while your account is active and thereafter as we reasonably need for regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, safety, and legitimate business purposes, subject to applicable law and your deletion requests where the law allows
- AI-related content and personalization outputs: Retained as needed for logs, backups, customer support, and service operation; caching periods vary by feature
- Analytics data: May be retained in raw or aggregated form according to our analytics partners' settings and our operational needs
- Payment and billing records: Retained as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal obligations
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements. Checkride LLC will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable time after account closure, subject to backups and records Checkride LLC must retain under applicable law.
7. Your Privacy Rights
7.1 How to Exercise Rights
To submit a privacy request (including access, correction, deletion, or export), contact Checkride LLC at privacy@trycheckride.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding and may decline requests that compromise others' privacy or conflict with law.
7.2 Legal Bases (Where Applicable)
To the extent any non-U.S. privacy law applies to your use of the Service, Checkride LLC may rely on one or more of the following legal bases for processing personal information: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests where they are not overridden by your rights (for example, securing accounts, preventing fraud, and improving the Service); your consent where required; and compliance with legal obligations.

7.4 California Residents (CPRA / CCPA)
California residents may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information; to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information (where applicable); and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights. Checkride LLC does not sell personal information for monetary consideration and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as commonly understood under California law. Checkride LLC does not offer financial incentives for personal information collection.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests where permitted by law.
7.5 Other U.S. State Privacy Laws
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and certain other U.S. states may have additional privacy rights (including appeal rights if a request is denied, where applicable). Submit requests through privacy@trycheckride.com. If your state provides a right to appeal and Checkride LLC denies your request, our response will explain how to appeal where required.
7.6 Users Located Outside the United States
The Service is designed for users in the United States. If you choose to use the Service from another country, you understand that personal information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. 8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage patterns, and provide personalized content. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled. 9. Scope of This Policy

Checkride LLC collects only what it reasonably needs to provide and improve the Service, comply with law, and communicate with you.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and Checkride LLC does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Users under 18 may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who must accept our Terms of Service on the user's behalf. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, or that a minor is using the Service without appropriate parental consent, contact privacy@trycheckride.com and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Checkride LLC may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or business operations. Checkride LLC will notify you of material changes through email or prominent notices in our application when practicable. Material updates will include a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy unless applicable law requires additional consent.
