Reading your teaching dashboard
Track monthly teaching hours, completion rates, and historical trends.
Your Teaching dashboard (sidebar → Teaching) summarizes your work as a CFI across all the schools you instruct at. The numbers come straight from completed lesson records and approved logbook entries — no manual data entry.
Current month
The headline tiles show:
- Dual hours — total dual-instruction time logged in completed lessons this month
- Ground hours — total ground-school time
- Total hours — dual + ground
- Approvals pending — how many of your students' logbooks are waiting on your sign-off
Click any tile to filter the lessons table below to that subset.
Six-month trend
A small chart below the tiles shows the same numbers month-by-month for the past six months. Useful for:
- Spotting seasonal patterns (most schools see a summer peak)
- Catching a sudden drop that might indicate a scheduling or pay issue
- Annualized estimates for tax planning
Student-level breakdown
Below the chart, a table shows each student you taught this month with:
- Hours flown together
- Most recent lesson date
- Progress percentage toward their target license
- A link to their training-progress page
Why a lesson might not appear
Three reasons a completed lesson wouldn't be reflected in your stats:
- The student's logbook entry isn't yet approved. Until you sign it off, the time hasn't crossed the approval threshold.
- The lesson is marked
cancelled. Cancelled lessons don't count, even if some prep time happened. - The lesson is in a different organization context than the one you have active. Switch workspaces with the workspace picker at the top of the page.
If your monthly numbers feel low, the most common cause is a backlog of unapproved logbook entries. Clear the Approvals queue and the numbers update immediately — see Approving logbook entries.
