Setting your availability

Publish blocks of time when students can request or you can directly schedule lessons.

Your weekly schedule grid (under Schedule in the sidebar) is where you publish availability blocks. A block is a span of time you're willing to teach — students see it as a bookable slot, and you can drop lessons into it directly.

Drag to create

On the week grid, click and drag on any column. A live preview shows the block as you drag. Release to drop. The 15-minute snap means you don't have to be precise — the block locks to the nearest quarter hour.

A popover appears with two choices:

  • Mark available — Publishes the block as bookable availability. Students see it.
  • Schedule lesson — Skips the block step and opens the new-lesson dialog (see Scheduling lessons) with the time pre-filled.

Editing an existing block

Click on an availability block to open the edit dialog. You can adjust the time, add notes (visible to students requesting the slot), or change the status:

  • available — bookable
  • booked — a student request was accepted; the block is locked
  • unavailable — visible to admins as your time-off, not bookable

Constraints

  • Availability must start in the future. The platform rejects blocks that begin in the past.
  • Blocks can't overlap for the same instructor. If you try to drag over an existing block, you'll see a conflict toast.
  • Blocks are scoped to your active organization. If you teach at two schools, you publish availability at each independently.

Use availability blocks the way you'd use a calendar. Publish a recurring week of slots on Sunday evening, and edit individual ones as the week evolves.

How students see your availability

In the student-facing scheduler, your published available blocks appear in your school's day view. A student picking one creates a pending appointment that you'll see in your inbox to approve or deny.
